The U.N.'s International Court of Justice will hold hearings on Thursday and Friday to discuss new emergency measures sought by South Africa over Israel's attacks on Rafah during the war in Gaza, the court said Tuesday.

China has warned “relevant countries” against creating further obstacles for Palestine’s membership to the United Nations after the General Assembly voted by a wide margin to grant new “rights and privileges” to Palestine.

The head of the United Nations’ agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, has rejected Israel’s claim about setting up so-called safe zones for the displaced people of Gaza as “false and misleading.”

UNRWA’s Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini made the remark in a Sunday post on X social media platform.

Since the onset of its genocidal war on Gaza over seven months ago, the Israeli occupation forces have been pounding Gaza with incessant attacks from air, sea and land, mass-killing the helpless civilians in the blockaded territory.
