“I do not say that democracy has been more pernicious on the whole, and in the long run, than monarchy or aristocracy. Democracy has never been and never can be so durable as aristocracy or monarchy; but while it lasts, it is more bloody than either. … Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty. When clear prospects are opened before vanity, pride, avarice, or ambition, for their easy gratification, it is hard for the most considerate philosophers and the most conscientious moralists to resist the temptation.” John Adams

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warns that the Israeli regime’s strikes against Syria will escalate tensions in the region and push it to a “dangerous abyss.”

Speaking to reporters during a briefing on Friday, Zakharova said Russia condemns the recent Israeli aggression against the Mediterranean coastal city of Baniyas in the northwestern province of Tartous.

She added that the Israeli aviation carried out the strikes late on Monday “under the pretext of arms depots located there.”

A US-led coalition’s MQ-9 Reaper drone dangerously approached a Russian fighter jet in Syria’s Homs governorate, Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Monday.

Lebanon's Hezbollah published new footage on Tuesday showing Israeli military bases in the occupied Golan Heights captured by the group's drones.

The video, entitled "al-Hodhod 2", shows Israeli intelligence and command bases and newly-established military bases and posts in the area.

Riots erupted across northern Syria and throughout Turkey on Monday, fuelled by Turkish anti-Syrian sentiment. While social media fuelled hysteria and led to the outburst of violence, the underlying issues on both sides that underpinned the chaos may be indicative of an imminent deal to secure a normalization of ties between Ankara and Damascus.

This is what they do.

If they can’t beat you in a straight fight, they sue you in civil court. It’s what they did to Alex Jones. They’ve done it to others as well. Some of them, perhaps, much better than Alex Jones, and also not owners of multimillion dollar magic pill empires.

But what does North Korea have to do with this?
